Exodus, Chapter 10 February 15, 2006

  • The plague of Locusts
  • The plague of Darkness

Their Time

  • God told Moses that all these plagues were happening so that everyone would know all the amazing things God could do. God told him to go tell Pharaoh that they wanted to go have a festival and if he refused to let them go then Egypt would be plagued with locusts. The locusts would eat up any crops that were left from the hail storm and the Egyptians would all starve (and die). So Pharaoh said they were nuts (for threatening him maybe?) and they were in big trouble. But the man were allowed to leave to worship, but no one else. God did exactly as He said He would. Pharaoh said he was sorry and to please take the locusts away. So Moses did and Pharaoh still wouldn’t let him leave. (All the locusts were blown into the Red Sea by a strong wind).

  • For this one God gave no warning. Darkness covered Egypt for 3 days (except for where the Israelites were). Pharaoh said Everybody can go worship your God now!!!![but not your animals]. Wrong answer Pharaoh!!! We need the little animals for the sacrifices. Pharaoh flips out and says he never wants to see Moses ever again (I think he thought he was being selfish). Pharaoh goes If I ever see your ugly face again you’ll DIE!!!! (a little harsh man). Moses is like yeah whatever, I didn’t really like you anyway.

All Time

God is awesome!!! I love Him with all my heart!!!!

My Time

This is actually supposed to be a personal thing but I’ll write something anyway. I really like reading the old testament because it’s just a bunch of old stories. But I have to remember that this actually happened, it’s not just a story. That’s the amazing part. Read this chapter and think of it as if a friend just passed you a note (a very LONG note) retelling their weekend. It’s unbelievable, but so real. Hope you liked it too.
